Fitness Zone - Core Stability

Core Stability

Core Stability training is a crucial part of every fitness programme but unfortunately is often ignored. The core stabilizing muscles are needed for all kinds of movements whether you plan to do heavy weightlifting or simply sit at your desk for a couple of hours. The most common cause of weakness and injury in sport can be blamed on one thing the failure to recognise that all movements are initiated or link through the trunk area and failure to train this area effectively severely limits your training potential.

Vew-Do Balance Board training stimulates and strengthens muscles used only subconsciously by most athletes. With supervision, the training can improve proprioceptor and motor control enhancement. And it can add a fun dimension to any training program.

Exercises on a Vew-Do Balance Board can help:

  • Improve individuals’ upright posture under constantly changing conditions. Promote balance-specific motor control, increasing motor learning and skill acquisition.
  • Challenge and improve athletes’ balance in all three planes of motion - frontal, sagittal, and transverse.
  • Provide constantly changing, continuous somatosensory feedback. (While on a Vew-Do Balance Board, athletes learn how to make better use of the information coming through their feet or hands.)
  • Promote dynamic stabilisation of both upper and lower extremities and joints.
  • Increase proprioceptive awareness.

Please consult a physician before attempting any Vew-Do Balance Board rehabilitation.

‘A fantastic tool for developing proprioception and core balance in both injured and non-injured athletes.
